What it measures

Shots on target the goalkeeper prevented from becoming goals. Volume is a function of how much the team is under pressure, which is why save points and clean sheet points reward opposite situations.

How the mainstream game treats it

1 point per 3 saves — a per-N rule, not per save. The divisor exists to stop a keeper in a bad team out-scoring outfield players every week.

How to score it in your league

A per-N rule, with points applying only to goalkeepers via position weighting. The catalogue also carries saves inside the box separately if you want to distinguish difficulty.

A sensible starting value

1 per 3 is the tested default. 1 per 2 makes goalkeepers genuinely worth thinking about; 1 per save makes the busiest keeper in the league an automatic pick.

Watch out for

Saves and clean sheets pull in opposite directions — one rewards being under siege, the other rewards not being. That tension is healthy, but if you raise both substantially, goalkeepers dominate your league from either direction.

Every stat here is scoreable in a league you build. See custom scoring or the scoring rules guide.
